I wanted to create some sustainable fun! And so Secret Bookshop was born. We try and include as little plastic as possible in our products and many are plastic-free. And we send out our bigger items in pre-used packaging too, giving each box its own unique story before it even reaches your doorstep!”

Give the kids a book? They will be disappointed, you say. Yes, kids are very hard to please aren’t they. That’s why, at Secret Bookshop, we offer more than ‘just’ a book. Whether it’s inspiring kids to save books from landfill or giving them an innovative way to read under the covers after lights out, we believe in turning ordinary moments into extraordinary memories, one box at a time.
What’s our secret? Adding a sense of wonder to every reading adventure. Of course, the book is always the star, but what if it was part of an exciting mission to become a Secret Book Agent? Or maybe it was abandoned on a dusty shelf and needs rescuing? Our boxes include fun extras like invisible UV pens, giant rainbow lollies and funny door hangers to add more magic to your child’s reading moments.

Of course, selling books is a great start, especially preloved ones! We're aiming for a plastic-free shop and are well on the way. Where plastic is unavoidable, we offer long-life products that will engage time and time again. And we proudly use pre-used or recyclable packaging, contributing to a more sustainable future.

Embracing all children, regardless of gender, race, religion, brain-wiring, age or reading ability, our approach ensures that every young reader feels seen and celebrated. From reluctant readers to avid bookworms, we want to help them discover a world where stories unite us all.
Unisex
We believe that children aren't defined by gender stereotypes, so we never assume that a girl won't like 'Thomas' or a boy won't enjoy 'Little Miss'. However, we understand that some books may be seen as particularly girly or boyish so we try and avoid those, choosing from a wide range of wonderful titles that we feel are unisex.
Affordable
Let's face it, we had no idea before having children just how expensive they are. (And it doesn't get any cheaper!) So we want to help where we can. Committed to keeping our prices low, we offer products to suit even the smallest budget. And for party bag alternatives, we offer a bulk order discount to take the edge off!
